It all started during the M8 Community Jam 09 (80s Horror) when Sleepside Metro posted the following additional jam challenge:

Hi everyone! For the next two weeks, we are running a variation on the Exquisite Corpse, a collaborative art game in which we will make a song together as a community.

Rules:

1. The game will start with an intial wav file of music, 8 bars in length. Find the starter file (plus stems and bundle) here: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1k3GJTavI20iONUmPINyl-uvlYdu9g2Ac?usp=sharing
2. Each player will create another 8 bars of music intendend as a continuation of the previous music
3. Each player will render their 8 bars as a WAV file and send their submissons by PM to Sleepside or by email to m8communityjam at gmail dot com
4. As submissions come in, the original starter file will be replaced with a submission, and players should write their 8 bars based on the new starter
5. Anonymous submissions are allowed, but if you would like to be credited, please include an artist name and any Bandcamp/SoundCloud/YouTube/etc links
6. Early submission is highly encouraged; final submission is October 29th 11:59 pm -10 UTC, aka October 30, 2023 3:59 AM.

After the game is over, I will assemble the entries in a finished song to be included in the M8 Community Jam 9 compilation. I will also be sharing the individual 8-bar entries for everyone here to make their own Corpse.
